Tips for installing a burglar alarm

Burglar alarms are a compulsory part of your house if you live somewhere away from the main city. Not only for houses but burglar alarms are the most suitable security devices for museums, libraries, and banks, where they have kept the most precious things of society.

Unlike security cameras, burglar alarms are a lot easier to install. This article will help you understand a  few tips for alarm installation; for each type of burglar alarm, there is a different method, but to use the burglar alarms at their best, you need to place them wisely.

Do not place them anywhere.

Sometimes people think that putting the alarms all around the house will help, which is not a necessary thing at all. You are not supposed to place the alarm without understanding the significance of the spot.

If, for example, you want to keep your room secure, as you have kept all your precious belongings in the room, then you must think of placing the alarms around your room, and not inside the room.

Do not put them near each other.

If you will place all the sensors close to each other, there is a strong risk that the intruder will cut down all the alarms with a single cut. It will be sheer stupidity. If, for instance, you are going for alarm installation in a museum, you will not place alarm number three and alarm number four together; the best way to place them is to put them almost 8 feet apart.

Hide the wires

If you are installing a wired burglar alarm system, then you must make sure that all the wired connections are hidden. Otherwise, through a single cut, the entire system will stop working, and you are with your family will have to face the music of this carelessness. The best place to hide the wires is behind the doors and the windows; you can paint the wires and nail them with the walls.

Make a floor plan

Make a drawing of your office/house, wherever you are planning to install the burglar alarm. Now point out the spots where you wish to place the alarms. This way, you can understand the risks and strengths of the burglar alarm system.

Check the noise

After installing the burglar alarm, it is better to check the alarm noise; you must ask your neighbor to help you in this regard. Sometimes, when you are not home, your home’s security will depend upon the neighbors.

Request your neighbor or to listen to the noise; if the alarms are easily audible, it means that the installed system is perfect for your house.

Contact an expert

If you feel some trouble in the installation, it is better to call an expert than to try alone. You can either call a reliable electrician or the retailer company. They will send somebody to assist you in the installation.
